What Is Naturopathic Medicine?

Dr. Corina Going was born in Switzerland, grew up on Cape Cod, and came to the Seattle area in 1992 to attend Naturopathic Medical School. She obtained her B.A. in Zoology from the University of Maine in 1981 and then worked variously as a Certified Nurses Aide, Certified Cardiac Technician in a hospital setting,and then as a Medical Assistant in a cardiology practice. She then became interested in alternative medicines and more holistic ways of helping people to heal while working as a manager at a health food store.

Dr. Going attended Bastyr University in Seattle, graduating in 1996. She has been in practice since then, opening a private practice in Everett, WA in 1996 and also completing a 2-year residency at Community Health Centers of King County from 1996-1998. She moved to Tacoma in 1999 and opened her current practice in Lakewood in 2000.

Dr. Going's passion is helping people with homeopathic medicines, and also uses botanical medicines, nutritional supplements, and diet and lifestyle counseling in her practice.

She is married and shares her home with one cat and an enthusiastic puppy. She enjoys hiking, bird-watching, gardening, cooking, and reading. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and the National Center for Homeopathy. She currently studies with master homeopath Henny Heudens-Mast in Belgium.
